Dear Soccer Enthusiasts,
A hearty welcome to our 10th Annual San Diego Soccer Club Presidents Cup. Our tournament is held over the Martin Luther King weekend and is a Class 1 Tournament open to USYSA and FIFA affiliated teams and AYSO registered teams. San Diego Soccer Club provides soccer experiences for all players within our community and the surrounding communities of Rancho Penasquitos, Poway, 4S Ranch, Escondido, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley and other parts of San Diego County. We have fostered a friendly kids first environment within our club and have wonderful competitive relationships with all of our soccer neighbors. We look forward to your participation during the weekend of January 17-18, 2015, and feel free to e-mail, call or ask any of our tournament staff for information about our tournament rules, our surrounding eateries and many wonderful attractions.
Each player and coach will receive a tournament pin. Finalist players and coaches will receive a medallion and each first place team will receive a championship T-shirt and trophy. For planning purposes, all out-of-state teams are guaranteed entry.
I also want to mention that we will provide an MVP award at the Boys and Girls U-11 age group --- the Brian Rudge Memorial Award -- in honor of one of our most dedicated youth soccer coaches who passed away just over eight years ago. Brian was an avid Manchester United supporter and an inspiration as a youth soccer coach within our community. Click here for more about Brian Rudge.
It is our sincere hope that you have a wonderful tournament experience and good luck on the field.
WE HAVE A DREAM...
...that our tournament will be fun, enjoyable and exciting
...that soccer helps to provide our kids and ourselves an opportunity to support our community
...that soccer continues to provide us with priceless memories that we will cherish for years to come.
...that every participant plays the game with the spirit, joy, and skill that makes soccer ‘The Beautiful Game’
...that our tournament inspires all of us to recognize we live in the world’s greatest country
...that for one small portion of time we smile, laugh and live for today.
...that the referees get all the calls correct.
...that yellow and red cards will be absent from play and parents, coaches and family applaud every good play.
...that all our participants enjoy San Diego and all of our surrounding communities beautiful features.
...that MLS comes to San Diego and a new Women’s Professional Soccer league rises to recreate the success of the San Diego Spirit.
...that everyone realizes that when they tie their cleats and tap their shinguards they are a winner.
