Dear Soccer Enthusiasts,

A hearty welcome to our 3nd Annual FC San Diego Presidents Cup. Our tournament is held over the Martin Luther King weekend and is a Class 1 Tournament open to USYSA and FIFA affiliated teams and AYSO registered teams. FC San Diego provides soccer experiences for all players within our community and the surrounding communities of Rancho Penasquitos, Poway, 4S Ranch, Escondido, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley and other parts of San Diego County. We have fostered a friendly kids first environment within our club and have wonderful competitive relationships with all of soccer neighbors. We look forward to your participation during the weekend of January 19-20, 2008, and feel free to e-mail, call or ask any of our tournament staff for information about our tournament rules, our surrounding eateries and many wonderful attractions.

I also want to mention that we will provide an MVP award at the Boys and Girls U-11 age group --- the Brian Rudge Memorial Award -- in honor of one of our most dedicated youth soccer coaches who passed away just over three years ago. Brian was an avid Manchester United supporter and an inspiration as a youth soccer coach within our community.

Each player and coach will receive a tournament pin. Finalist players and coaches will receive a medallion and each first place team will receive a championship T-shirt and trophy. For planning purposes all out-of-state teams guaranteed entry.

It is our sincere hope that you have a wonderful tournament experience and good luck on the field.

Keep on kicking,

Brian Quinn
Tournament Director

Preteen Vaccine Week

Preteen Vaccine Week (January 20-26, 2008) is a statewide observance to encourage parents to take their preteen for a well child visit. It promotes immunizations for 11- to 12-year-olds that can protect them against very serious diseases. Immunizations protect your health and the health of those you care for. More information about Preteen Vaccine Week will be available during the FC San Diego Annual Presidents’ Cup Soccer Tournament. For more information on immunizations, please visit the San Diego Immunization Branch website at www.sdiz.org and the California Department of Public Health Immunization Branch website at www.mybestshot.org.
